Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification for admission to AICTE Courses B.Tech 1st year & 2nd year & that of M.Tech. and BCA Courses shall be as follows:

1. B.Tech. Civil / Mechanical / CSE (Lateral Entry) vide DTE, Punjab Notification No. TECH-TE-2013/1/2020/-5TE1/I/59905/2020 dated 05-08-2020 (i) All those candidates who have passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution and have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology shall be eligible to apply.

(ii) All those candidates who have passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply

a) Students who have passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall clear the subject of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program along with second year subjects.

b) Students belonging to b.Sc. stream may further note that they shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this categorywith students belonging to the Diploma stream.

Any other diploma of the duration 2.5 years or more, recognized by State Board of Technical Education.

 
 
2. B.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering / Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering)

10+2 Non Medical from a board recognized by or established by Central/State Govt. through a legislation and a member of COBSE, New Delhi with Physics and Mathematics ac compulsary subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/ Technical Vocational Subjects/Information Technology/Information Practices/Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies

Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category) in the above subject taken together.

or

Those candidates who have passed diploma in Engineering Trade from PSBTIET Chandigarh or SLIET or any such examination from State Board of Technical Education obtaining at least 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category).

or

The candidates who have passed two years certificate course from SLIET shall be eligible.

 

Admission shall be made purely on the inter-se merit in qualifying exam through counselling.

3. M.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering)

1. All those candidates who have passed B.E. / B.Tech. (CSE / IT / Software Engg. / Computer Engg. / Software Systems / Information Security / Cyber Security /Computational Engg. / Machine Learning / IoT / Data Science)

OR

B.E. / B. Tech. in any stream as Major along with Minor Degree in CSE

OR

B. Tech. in any relevant/ appropriate branch of CSE as mentioned in AICTE regulations from time to time, under "Major Branches of Engineering / Technology and their relevant / appropriate branch of UG Degree in Engineering / Technology".

OR

B. Tech. / B.E. in circuit branches (ECE, EE etc.) with two years' experience in IT industry.

2. Obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination from any University recognized by UGC.

Admission shall be made purely on the inter-se merit in qualifying exam through counselling.

4. M.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering)

All those candidates who have passed B.E. / B. Tech. in Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Manufacturing / Welding / Material Science / Metallurgy Engineering or equivalent with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination from any University recognised by the UGC.

Admission shall be made purely on the inter-se merit in qualifying exam through counselling.

5. Bachelor in Computer Application (UGC Course) 10+2 in any stream.
